In the period 1st-17th March 2017 the exercise "Trident Jaguar" is conducted in Bulgaria and Norway. A total of 1 150 military and civil servicemen from 22 NATO member states and 5 non-Alliance states participate in this exercise held in "Novo Selo" Joint Training Facility (JTF) in Bulgaria.

On 16th March a VIP delegation including Rumen Radev (President of the Republic of Bulgaria and Supreme Commander Bulgarian Armed Forces), Stefan Yanev (Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Defense) Gen. Andrei Botzev, Chief of Defense HQs, Adm. Emil Eftimov (Deputy Chief of Defense HQs), Brig. Gen. Petyo Mirchev (Deputy Commander Bulgarian Air Force), Adm. Mitko Petev (Commander Bulgarian Navy) and Gen. Mihail Popov (Commander Bulgarian Land Forces) visited "Novo Selo" JTF in order to inspect the exercise and attend its closing part.

The exercise "Trident Jaguar" is aimed at the certification of the capability of the French HQ RRC-FR to conduct a joint NATO operation in response of crisis which is not within the scope of Art. 5 in the Washington Treaty. The Director of the exercise is the Commander of NATO JWC located in Stavanger, Norway.
